Is feeding infants water a bad idea?

Newborns don't really need any extra water, but it's a good idea to introduce a few ounces when they begin eating baby foods to get them used to drinking it.

Yes it is. Studies have shown that feeding infants water can cause seizures and other health issues. It is usually best to refrain from giving a child water until they are over 1 year old. Check with you doctor to find out what age is best for your child.

Generally yes, it is. The reasoning behind this is that if you give them water, they will be less likely to drink either your breast milk or formula, which provides them with vital nutrients they need. If they are thirsty breast milk or formula is the healthiest thirst quencher.

Yes, its definately a bad idea. A mothers milk has all the nutrients as well as water that an infants body requires, so when ever you can nurse your child.
