If a pregnant cat has bloody discharge, it may be a sign of a miscarriage, if it's before 8 weeks. If it's after, if may be a sign of complications.

If your cat has bloody vaginal discharge before 8 weeks gestation there is a possibility that an abortion or resorption of the litter is taking place. If you see bloody vaginal discharge after 8 weeks gestation, this is a sign of premature delivery. In either case, you should take the pregnant cat to you veterinarian.

Absolutely. Any time your pregnant cat has bloody discharge and it's not yet time for labor is a cause for concern. Get her to your vet immediately, if possible. Keep her calm, and try to ensure that if any kitten starts to come out that it doesn't get stuck, or other major complications can occur.

It could be - it could also be a sign of too much stress or movement. The best solution would be to call the vet!

It can be. If the discharge occurs and no kitten appears for a couple hours take the cat to the vet immediately because something isn't right.

I have heard of bloody discharge in pregnant cats when they are miscarrying a kitten. Otherwise from my own cats I know that it could be a bacterial infection! :(
