Aspirin and Tylenol will provide similar pain relief for neck pain, however, Aspirin may have more side effects in normal adults. Aspirin can cause or magnify bleeding issues and can irritate the stomach, in general it should not be taken unless prescribed by a doctor. Try Ibuprofen or Aleve.

Tylenol and Motrin (acetaminophen and ibuprofen)are both excellent for muscle pain. Aspirin is effective, too, but has a greater chance of causing stomach upset, while the other two medications do not. Motrin/Advil, etc. , over-the-counter is 200 mg tablets. Prescription ibuprofen is dispensed in up to 800 mg tablets. The bigger dose is more effective for severe pain.

The best way to see if aspirin will help neck pain better is to try it. Be sure there is no medical reason that you should not use aspirin.

In my opinion it may depend on what type of neck pain you have. If you have pulled a muscle in your neck or have strained it you may want to consider using the aspirin. Aspirin is an antiinflammatory and would ease any swelling that may be causing the pain. If not the tylenol may work for head ache pain.

For pains like neck pain, Tylenol is better. It will last for a longer time. Aspirin doesn't last longer but starts its effects immediately. But it is found that in some patients aspirin gives the soothing effect.

In a word, probably. Aspirin is in the class of drugs known as NSAIDs, and would better at relieving symptoms caused by inflammation of joints or muscle.
