Is a paste of salt and water good to stop itching?

Yes ofcourse it works. Because salt has the ability to extract the water content from the organisms or germs that cause itching. So as soon as the germs loose the water from their body automatically they die. so as soon as they die the problem is solved. no more itching.

I've tried something like that, but our family used baking soda and water. You shake out the baking soda. Add enough water to make a thick paste. Then gernously apply to the infected area. The cooling relief is usualy immediate. I don't think salt would have the same cooling effect.

mix salt in water and apply in itching area,itching is because of insect bite,spicy food and salt are not good for itchy skin,salt and water is ready in all place,its cheap also, so s salt is best solution and apply it with water,this way is the best home remedies. my grand mmo mother tips.

Table salt is not known for its anti-itch properties. Try baking soda and water instead. Make the paste by mixing a cup of baking soda with one-third of a cup of water. Apply it to the itchy area but do not use on an open sore or cut.
