The Battle of Gettysburg lasted 3 days, from July 1st to July 3rd, 1863. Totaled, the losses for each sides are approximately 23,000 soldiers. The actual breakdown is as follows: Union killed: 3155. Wounded: 14531. Missing or captured: 5369 Confederate killed: 4708. Wounded: 12693. Missing or captured: 5830

The Union's losses in the battle of Gettysburg were as follows, 3,155 killed, 14,530 wounded, and 5,365 missing. On the Confederate side there were anywhere between 2,600 and 4,500 killed, 12,800 wounded, and 5,250 missing. Definitive figures for casualties in this battle do not exist, only close approximations.
