In terms of economy, which is the strongest country in the world?

Economically the United States remains the strongest and most important economic power. Although other states may have greater exports, hold greater reserves at this moment the force of the American economy determines the direction of the world economy. Even as an importer it is the engine driving the world economy; other nations depend on its economic dynamism for their wellness.

Germany has always been strong economically for it's size, and China is doing well too. A lot of China's population is still impoverished however, so I'd say Germany currently.
