If you are being sued for credit card debt in Michigan, your primary residence is exempt. No one can take your home because you owe credit card debt. However, they could garnish your wages, which in turn would hurt your ability to pay your mortgage on said home.

Your home cannot be seized for credit card debt. It is against the law for a collector to make that threat, by the way. A creditor can get a court order and attach your bank accounts and possibly put a lien on your property, but they cannot take your home.

No. Not unless your credit cards are secured by your home, which is very unlikely. Most credit card accounts are unsecured debt, which means there is no collatoral they can take if you don't pay. They can only ask for the money you borrowed, plus any fees and any interest.

In any state if you have credit card debt, they can not take your home. It is only when you have a lien from not paying your mortgage that when they can take your home. The worst they can do is damage your credit.

Not unless you were to file for bankruptcy. They will try to get payments out of you and if those payments don't happen or aren't to their satisfaction they can sue you to get the money. If you were to file bankruptcy the court can sell of any items over a certain amount to pay the debt.
