A water change should be done every two weeks, and the general rule of water changes is 20 percent. Espicially when you have plants the new water is food and nutrients for them. Also when you do water changes it keeps your amonia level in check, which is very important.

It depends on the size: up to 2 gallons, you should do it twice a month. Otherwise the algae take over and kill all yopur fish. With larger tanks, it is sufficient to change water once in three months. Bigger tnaks than 3 million gallons don't need water exchanged at all!

The frequency of saltwater changes depends on the tank. For a lower bioload with hardier fish, once a month is acceptable, but many aquarists prefer to do water changes weekly.

Frequency of water changes depends entirely upon the size of the tank and how stocked it is. If you have a fifty gallon tank with only two clownfish, you wont have to do more than top off your tank for a month. If you have a tank brimming with livestock, weekly water changes of 25-50% are the standard.

You should do a 20% water change at least every two weeks. We have a 125 gallon saltwater tank. Don't let the water set too long in there.

If you have a whater filtration system then you will change the whater according with the species that you have inside. I change the whater once at 4 days, because i dont have so many fishes.

You can able to see the difference in a salt water tank by means of a color change in it. Hence change water for every 10 days.
