If you buy a house after you are married, the mortgage/financing will be in both names and the title to the property will be in both names.

Yes. Both the mortgage for the property AND the deed to the house should be in both names. If both names are on the deed, then you have instant right of survivor-ship and ownership of the home if one of you dies.
