First step to immigrate to any country is to consult in the country's embassy what type of VISA requirements apply to your nationality. In the US most embassies are located in Washington D. C. In the case of American citizens Jamaica can grant entry up to six months.

Apply for a Jamaican visa. Move there with the intent to immigrate. Prepare to obtain Jamaican citizenship. You should start to learn Jamaican, as this would make things easier there.

Contact the Jamaican Embassy. They will be able to answer any of the questions you have concerning immigrating or even having duel citizenship, which might be better for you. That way you can still easily live and travel to both places.
