I was just filling my pool with well water, added chlorine and it turned a yellowish green. What would cause this?

It could be several things. Algae buildup, Ph buildup or the pool may need shocking. You can purchase test strips to check the water for issues like these.

i had the same problem. you have iron in your water if you don't have a sand filter get one. add metal clearer. and backwash daily untill clear. the paper filter that came with pool could not keep up. pool guys won't tell you that. try hayward pumps and filters
