Straining of the lower abdomen happens frequently and isn't a major problem. In order to help with the pain, stretch often, though try not to strain your abdomen until about two weeks after it feels better. Massages, or just pressure/heat will help it heal faster.

You should start by resting your abdomen and refraining from doing any activities that cause you to strain it further and allow the muscles time to heal before attempting any activities. Try soaking in warm epsom salt baths and limit your movements to those that do not require abdominal area.
