If you are certain that the prescription is incorrect, return to the location and ask for a reexamination. If you wear eyeglasses that overcorrect for your problem, you may have to continue to wear that strength prescription into the future because your eyes become used to that level of correction.

If possible, you should contact the ophthalmologist you purchased them from. Clerical errors occur, most likely they will help you get the correct prescription. If this isn't an option, you may be able to buy the correct lenses and have them fitted into the frames you all ready have.

It is not uncommon to receive a wrong eyeglass prescription. You should return to the eye doctor who prescribed it as soon as practical and explain the problem. Sometimes it's as simple as re-writing the prescription for you.
