I just moved to a new city, how should I make new friends?

Answer by  Baimer (19)

The best way to make new friends is to get involved in your new community; join a church group, volunteer, play sports. Take one of your hobbies and start searching for others who also enjoy that activity by looking in the newspaper or on community bulletin boards.

A non-corporate coffee shop was my best way for making new friends. You can easily identify the regulars, they are usually the easiest to make friends with because they are easy to meet up with sense they always hang out at the same place. Just be open to differing view points, and don't bug anyone who is reading.

It can seem tough to make new friends when you move to a new city. Just remember that it's important to be yourself, find places that offer activities you like to do, and you will meet new people there that share the same interests. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there a little by introducing yourself.
