This is just a new twist in an old idea. Have a planter that has a special area to put water. The water then gets absorbed by the roots of the plants through a set of holes, (in the planter I saw). This makes watering very easy.

Self-water plant containers work well as long as you keep the plants indoors and keep the rim filled with water. If you keep the plant outdoors, there is a chance it will get additional water from rain, which would be a problem. Also, make sure you fill the whole pot with a plant to get the ratio correct.

Self-watering plant pots work very well, providing water to plants for days without the worry of over/under watering. Especially great for vacationing and for those plants whose watering needs benefit being on the moist side.

The pots are great and have excellent reviews. They are good for people who work away and for going on vacation and for those who just can't remember to water.
