I guess it would depend on the situation. If you're caught with your pants down, laughter is probably the best reaction. If you have created the embarrassment, an apology would be in order. I think in most cases the best way to handle embarrassment is to have a good sense of humor. We're all human.

actaully,it all depends on the situation. but still first of all,you should try to protect yourself by hook or by crook. if still it is not handling than try to leave that placeby saying words like "sorry" or "it wont be happen again". dont argue again and again if you are caught red handed

If something embarrassing happens to you, just laugh it off and move on. It is important to be able to laugh at yourself. And after it doesn't seem so mortifying, chances are it was funny. If you just forget about it and carry on, others will move on too. Embarrassing things happen to everybody, people will understand.

You cna ignore it or laugh it off. Perhaps even better, you can make a calm statement acknowledging the situation and then move on. Something like "well, this is embarasing, but we all go through embarassing situations from time to time, so we'll just have to struggle through it as best we can, as always".
