Make sure that you wash the bite really well. Then put some antibiotic ointment on it. If it itches you will need to find one that is antibiotic and has anti-itch medicine in it. Make sure you keep it clean. You can put some ice on it if it hurts.

You can put ice on it initially and then put arnica on it afterwards. Arnica is a homeopathic remedy you can find in almost any store

The best way to treat an insect bite that's causing bruising is to first wash it, then place an antibiotic ointment. If the bite was itching, then you will want to get an anti itch antibiotic. Also, always make sure that the area stays clean. Always wash until it has gone away and repeat the process daily.

Most insect bites clear up without treatment. Keep it clean, use anti-histamine cream if it swells or itches. If it shows any signs of being infected, or getting hotter, or visible veins near it, then see a doctor immediately.
