The best way to prepare I think is to allow yourself to be honest and open with her so she can help you in the best way possible.

You need to be completly honest with them. Just keep in mind that they are there to help you, and they have to keep everything you say to themselves. Start out by getting to know them, and let them get to know you. Pretty much your first visit is mainly them asking alot of questions.

The decision to go to a therapist for the first time in order to discuss the depression problem itself shows that you have made up your mind to get rid of the problem. Take a note of all the events that led to depression and how you felt during those times and tell them all to the therapist.
