Before painting over bathroom tiles it is important to remove any soap scum and dirt from the existing tiles, you will want to clean them thoroughly and then make certain that you rinse it off and remove any left over chemicals.

Clean tile and apply an etching chemical such as acetone or zylene. This will etch the surface, allowing the paint to adhere. Apply an oil-based primer; allow to dry for six hours and then apply one coat of an oil-based enamel paint; allow to dry for at least 24 hours and apply second coat.

You will have to find a type of paint that works on slick surfaces. Check the labels - they make paints like that. The instructions will probably tell you to scuff up the underlayment to ensure good adhesion, but this will permanantly disfigure the tile... so make sure you want this.

Now a days there is a paint for everything. The first thing you should do is use the right primer, and very important let that completly dry. After the primer is dry, paint it over, but make sure that you get the right type of paint.
