In most states here in the United States, it is generally 16 years of age. Some states may allow it at 15, but it depends on the length of time that you've had your learner's permit. Here in North Carolina, you can have your permit for 12 months and then get your provisional license.

To get a provisional driving license you must be fifteen years old. This varies by state. If you are from another country or do not have a social security number you must be eighteen years old.
