How much should I expect to pay to repair the air conditioning in a Ford Escort?

It only blows hot air.

Ok first of all it really depends on what is wrong. However you can probably expect to pay around 500-700 dollars usd for the repair cause if you have to pay for a compressor and to have the lines vacuumed out then freon will need to be added. That is really it unless you have to replace the lines.

If it only needs refrigerant, around $100. If it requires a new compressor, around $500. Your mechanic will be able to make that determination.

It depends on What is wrong and How the repair is done. At a Ford-dealership it could run around $2,000 "by-the-book"; if you have a couple of things wrong & they do a new-parts factory-repair. A less-expensive mechanic might fix it for around $200 using a machine-shop or salvage/used parts.
