How much should I be able to bench press?

I need to make sure I am bench pressing the right amount.

It depends on your fitness level and goals: the more reps you do, the less weight you should do. You should always be struggling to do your last few reps.

Well that would depend on alot of factors, like age, physical fitness level, etc. But usually a good rule of thumb is to be working out with your body weight.

It depends on how long you've been doing it. The definition that most people go on as far as how good your bench press is, is can you benchpress your body weight. If you can, that is pretty good. EXTREME strength are people who can bench press double their body weight.

The answer depends on your individual fitness goals. A good rule of thumb is that if you are lifting to tone up, you should be able to complete 12 reps per set, but no more. If you're lifting to add size, lift 80 percent of your one-rep max, and lift to failure.
