When you use shock for a pool it goes by the size of the pool and the amount of water in the pools in gallons. Make sure you read all the instructions on the shock carefully before using it and always remember to backwash the pool after you shock it.

If you go to a store like Pinch a Penny, they specialize in swimming pool needs. By asking a worker there, you can figure it out. You will need to know the size of your pool. If you go to the store, you can also go to the shock section and read the manufacturer's instructions for your pool size.

The amount of shock to use in a pool depends on the size of the pool and how many gallons of water are in the pool. You must also check how "dirty" the water is. Be sure to reade the manufacturers specifications found on the package before using.
