The official website of Stanford University reports that tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is $12,900 with slight variances in price depending on field of study. The listed cost pertains to quarterly payments; a full, one-year term at the university would approximately be $50,000 without taking room and board and other costs into consideration.

According to Stanford's website, during the 2009-2010 academic year students paid an average of $37,380 in tuition with an additional $501 in fees and $11,463 in Room and Board. Scholarships can often help with tuition but fees and lodging are often not covered. Scholarships vary depending on your situation, ethnic background, grades and area of study. Good luck!
