The cost of the ticket depends on the fines in the jurisdiction where you were cited. There is a fine plus court costs. You may have to attend driving school and the court may order you to pick up high-risk insurance (which reports to the court) for a year or two.

Traffic tickets vary according to your offense, and can get very serious if you are in a state that works on a "point system"- with very few offenses, you can accumulate enough points to lose your license for as much as 4 years. The cost of your offense is usually listed on your ticket, and you need to pay it.

The price of a traffic ticket is set by the jurisdiction who issued the ticket, so it can vary greatly. In some places, if you do not get insurance, you could even lose your license to drive.

You will get a fine for the ticket and then you will pay extra for not having any insurance. In some states they will impound your car until you show proof that you have gotten coverage on the car. You most likely will have some points tacked on to your license.
