Multiply your weight by 15 calories, males (women 12 calories), then multiply by 30%, then divide by 9. Saturated fat should only be 10% of total fat grams

On average a person's diet should contain about 30% of calories from fat. I cannot say the exact number of grams of fat a person should intake, since it will vary depending on how many calories a person is eating. For example if a woman consumes 1800 calories per day, then she should eat about 60 grams fat per day.

Based on information from the department of health, if an adult consumes an average of 2000 calories per day, then no more than 65 grams should be fat.

Your key for determining this is to make your fat intake about 30% of your daily calories. 30% of 2000 is 600, and if we assume 9 calories for every fat gram, that gives you 66 grams. Adjust this for your own calorie intake.

If you are a woman, you should take in 28 grams of fat. If you are a man, you should take in 35. However, increased energy output requires even more.
