How much fabric do you need to buy to make curtains?

I have the window measurements, but need help.

It is recommended to buy 3 times the wideth of the window to allow for fullness. Multiple that amount by the length you want. Allow to match a pattern fabric.

You need to decide what kind of curtains you want. If you want curtains that are ruffled up, then you will need to buy fabric with a width much wider than the window itself. Also, you should buy fabric that is AT LEAST a foot(12 inches) longer than the length of your windows (to allow for the curtain rod holes.)

Take your measurements across and double that for the width of fabric. For the length take the measurements from top to bottom add 10" plus extra for the added length.

If it is a floor length curtain you should buy a little more than the needed amount in case of mistakes.Anywhere from 6 to 8 feet of fabric will do.
