An electric guitar can be bought starting at $199 for a good quality one, and the prices range to well above several thousand dollars. It would depend on what style of guitar you want and what style of music you want to play. As a starter, around $200 should do it.

Electric guitars can rage from around $150 on the cheap end to a few thousand on the more expensive end. A good guitar like a Epiphone Les Paul, which is a more affordable version of a Gibson Les Paul costs about $1,000. It's a really good guitar for a decent price.

Electric guitars are just like everything else, you get what you pay for. A good beginner electric guitar would be around $300-$500. If you want to get something really nice you should probably start around a $1000.
