How many amps are in a regular outlet?

American ones usually have 15 or 20 amps. To be sure you can pull out the outlet (but be careful), it should be written somewhere on it (on the back perhaps).

It depends on where you live. To ask this question, you are asking for "current rating". You can always look for it in your national standards. Most countries' outlets, however, support up to 15A. Some may not, like the old "Soviet Plug", which is rated only at 6A.
