There is no set number of outlets for a normal house. That's determined by the builder and what features are to be in the house. However, the vast majority of homes have two - one for an electric drier hookup, and one for an electric range/cooktop. Some homes may have more for electric water heaters and other accessories.

In the United States, an average house will only have one or two 220 volt outlets, as most appliances don't need more than 110.
