English Ivy is a fantastic growing plant. When transplanted you can expect to see some noticeable growth within the first week. It is important to keep this ivy in full sun which is 6 hours or more and start training it early so it forms nicely.

English ivy will begin growing within 3 weeks of being transplanted if the conditions are favorable. Most and warm weather will begin producing new leaves. A little protection from direct hot sun until it is established will help the plant grow new roots instead of fight to stay hydrated. A dose of liquid plant food is advised.

English Ivy is fairly hardy and will likely start sending up new leaflets as soon as it is secure in its new home. Expect to see some growing action within two weeks or so.

I do not know how long English Ivy needs before it grows after it has been transplanted. I don't think it would be too long though.
