Yogurt is made by introducing bacterial cultures to dairy products. Specifically, the process for making yogurt is to heat milk to 200 degrees fahrenheit for a period of 20-30 minutes. After that, the milk is rapidly cooled and a yogurt starter is introduced. The yogurt starter can be other yogurt, since it will contain the necessary bacteria.

Certain bacteria are added to milk in a controlled environment. Once added the mix is allowed to ferment. After fermentation, yogurt typically has a tangy taste. It can be made with milk virtually from any animal and is known to have chunks after fermentation.

To make yogurt you must start with your protein base. It could be milk or soy, or whatever liquidy protein you deem appropriate. Then when the base is heated to between 100 - 108 degrees you add the yogurt cultures. The cultures grow in the base until you have yogurt.

Yogurt is made from milk and other flavors. The milk is cultured to the consistency of yogurt and then flavorings are added.
