How have you dealt with the death of a parent, spouse or child?

Which is harder? Do you cope differently?

When my father died five years ago, I found writing the obituary reminded me of his wonderful life. Arranging the funeral service is also a part of saying goodbye. Taking new flowers to the cemetery is a peaceful time for me. I still miss him but try to remember things that we laughed about and it helps.

My dad died without any notice at all. Instant heart attack. With any relative it is stressful on the survivors. Everyone copes differently. But none are easy. And with a child you want to play the "what if" game and it never works. And the "Why them?" game that also does not work.

Losing anyone you love is difficult. Time helps you to move through the grieving process. Losing a child is worst because you expect children to outlive you.

The hardest is definatly losing a child. There is no one way to cope. The biggest thing to remember is that you have to move on eventually.
