It is fairly difficult to grow Romaine lettuce due to the fragile nature of the plant. Iceburg lettuce can be just as tricky to grow due to it's similar fragile nature.
Romaine and Leaf Lettuce are the easiest to grow and are better for you then iceburg. As the leafs grow on the romaine and leaf you can pick them off and the plant will yield more leafs.
