Keep your work sessions short, and reward with praise and rest. Look for small tries- for example, a small step forward, release the pressure, and praise and rub the neck. Ask again, for one step at a time. Take a break at about the ten minute mark, and let your baby think a bit. Repeat until he follows you willingly.

It may be difficult at first since you started so late. You can try to have someone walk behind him and push him or you could try to coax him on your own and move forward.

Make sure he's trained to wear a halter and lead shank. Also, he should understand that he needs to be still when he's tied up. Teach him simple voice commands, like 'whoa' and 'go.' Reward him when he listens, but don't punish him if he doesn't. Above all, be patient.
