Diet and exercise are the two easiest ways to speed up your metabolism. Stay away from foods high in fats and cholesterol. Exercising regularly actually improves your metabolism even when you're not working out.

Eat more dark leafy green vegetables and exercise more. You may feel tired at first, but you will really build up your energy level.

A slow metabolism can be sped up by exercise and eating several small nutritious meals a day. You can eat carrot sticks, celery, or pretzels as snacks to speed up your metabolism and exercise like walking or running after meals. Your metabolism will only work when there is food in your body to break down.

Daily exercise and consistent, healthy, eating habits will boost your metabolism to where it is supposed to be. Eat a balanced meal every day, and once a week allow yourself to indulge, to keep the metabolism 'guessing' so to speak.

There isn't too much that you can do about a slow metabolism. Exercise can help you increase your resting calorie burn - lifting weights in particular burns calories for up to eight hours after the exercise is over. There is some evidence that suggests that eating six small meals rather than three large ones can speed metabolism as well.

Exercise, and/or over-the-counter drugs. Visiting with a physician is best, or one can just try to become more active in their daily routine. Walking once around the block for a week will increase a slow metabolism in 3 days.

Each individual has different metabolism speeds, this is dependent on genetics, diet, activity level as well as other things. To speed up metabolism two things may be done. A diuretic can be taken that will speed up the intestinal absorption, therby speeding up your metabolism. Two, dietary changes such as a diet high in leafy vegetables.
