You can't send a fax over a DSL modem. A normal analog POTS line is required to send and receive faxes.

The easiest way to do that is to use a browser based solution. web or gmx offer such services. A non browser solution is gfi fax.

You can still send a fax with your computer if you have a fax/modem installed. Just connect it to your phone lin download and install faxing software, such as fax wizards. You cannot fax over dsl connection, but you can still send and received faxes over your regular telephone lines.

You can't send faxes using a DSL modem, you need a dedicated fax/internet modem for that. Don't worry they are very cheap, like $5 or so. They are hardware so have to be installed in your computer.

You can use an internet fax service. You get your own fax number and you can send/receive faxes using your email. It's really easy and very affordable.
