Remove the plastic piece surrounding the ignition lock cylinder. Remove the screws that holds the plastic piece on the steering column together. open the two plastic pieces apart. Separate the two halves. Insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it to the accessory position. Press in the tab above the lock cylinder and pull out the ignition lock cylinder.

First off, you will need to get a replacement lock cylinder from either the dealership or an aftermarket parts store. Remove the cladding in the steering column. Remove screws hold cylinder in place. Disconnect the linkage on the back of the lock cylinder. Remove cylinder from column and compare cylinder with new one. Reinstall in opposite fashion. Done.

First, remove the cover(s) around the steering column. Then you can unbolt the lock cylinder and unhook the wires. Install in the reverse of removal.

In order to replace the ignition lock cylinder you will need to take off your steering wheel on your Saturn. Once you have taken it off you can replace the lock.

You don't have to remove the steering wheel to replace the cylinder, Just the surrounding housing. there is a small release button located on the top of the cylinder. Push it in and the tumbler slides right out.  add a comment
