This is not an easy car repair. You'll need to first aquire the proper brand of cable that you need for your Ford Mustang from either your dealership or your local automotive repair store. You're going to need some wire cutters and a saudering gun, climb under the car and locate the cable.

Remove the cover on the gearshifter so you can see where the cable connects. You may also need to disconnect it from underneath the car, and definitely the transmission.

THe best advice that can be given is to take your Ford mustang to the Ford dealership or to a nearby "shade tree" mechanic if your funds are low. Usually "shade tree" mechanics request that you buy the part & they will do the labor for a fraction of the price.
