How do you replace a timing chain on a Chevrolet Tracker?

I need to replace the timing chain on my Chevrolet tracker.

In order to answer this correctly the following information is needed: year of vehicle, engine size etc. Most autopart stores will have manuals for your vehicle (chilton manuals for example) which show you step by step on how to make most general repairs which is what this would be classed as.

To replace timing chain on Chevrolet tracker disassemble the engine cover, mark the lines to TDC . before the replacing make sure that the marks matches up.

To replace a timing chain, disassemble the engine cover. Mark you lines to find TDC. When installing the new, make sure the marks match up. After installed, put parts back together and test.

You do not ever need to change the timeing chain if it is the chain not a belt. A good way to check is to go to a parts store and ask them and get the hayes repair guide.

Yes it is. Mine bent six valves. you can turn the crank and the pistons will touch the valves. So go ahead and pull the head and have it checked.
