How do you replace a Mercedes alternator?

I would like to replace the alternator in my car.

It's a simple remove-and-replace affair. Locate the alternator, figure out how to loosen/remove the drive belt (and do so), unbolt and unplug the old alternator, plug in and bolt on the new alternator, and tighten/re-install the belt. Now would be a good time to replace the belt if it looks worn.

You are going to want to take the negative battery cable off. You can then undo the nuts for the cables running to the alternator. then you are going to want to take the pulley off and remove the alternator.

First unhook the battery. Then remove the drive belt. Next remove the wire connectors and remove the alternator. Finally reverse the process with the new one.
