Remove the tire, and turn the car all the way to the opposite side. Remove the lower bolt located under the spring assembly and there should be an upper bolt aswell. Remove and replace!

It is similar to most other front wheel drive cars. Start by pulling the wheel off. Remove the suspension from the steering knuckle. Then unbolt the knuckle from the shaft. Then you need to release the shaft from the transmission. The axle should then slide out. Then you just reverse the process with the new assembly.

The left cv axle is removed by removing the tire, rotor, and caliber. Next, remove all bolts that tie the axle to the wheel, including shock, etc. Pull the axle straight out. Pack the new axle with grease and replace. Installation is opposide of removal. Procedure is also located in a haynes manual.

Remove tire and take off axle dust cover in the center, remove axle nut, remove lower ball joint and seperate from A frame. The CV joint will now be free to move out from wheel mount after free from the wheel pry out from the transmission end of the car. Do the reverse to install new axle

Jack up the vehicle, remove both of the front tires. Exposing the brake pads and rotors. You'll need to double jack it so it doesn't collapse.

This is a large job and requires the disassembly of the axle for your Nissan Maxima. It requires special tools that can get loose the high torque bolts.

Pull wheel off and take off the suspension from the steering knuckle. Unbolt the knuckle from shaft. Release shaft from transmission. Axle suppose to slide out. A must prefer you to get the factory boot kind that comes with the tube of grease for the cv joint for better quality.
