To ensure success with lavender cuttings the best time to take cuttings is Spring giving ample opportunity for them to grow. Having taken cuttings fill a pot/pots with sandy compost which is watered but not soaked. Dip the cuttings in rooting hormone powder and place in soil, firming down.

Well, you can plant the cuttings in the soil as well. Also put in the seeds. You will have great results.

The best way to be completely sure you are doing it correctly is go to you local greenhouse and tell them what you are trying to do they will be able to tell you. They transplant plant clippings all the time they would know better than anyone how to go about doing it.

The best way would be to purchase plants at a store. You can either buy potting mix and plant them in a container or plant them in the ground.

Propagate by cuttings taken in May through mid-August with 3" to 4" cuttings planted in moist soil. Use a branch that is not too brown.

We have to do the one matter that is cut the old plant. Then plant that stem cutting. Another method is layering. If we plant this stem we do an another one that is keep in a dry and cool place.
