How do you prevent a charlie horse?

I seem to get quite a few charlie horses so I was hoping I could do something to prevent them.

When you exercise, you build up lactic acid in your muscles. This build-up is what causes hyour charlie horses. To prevent them, stretch for 10 minutes before exercise.

The best way to prevent leg cramps is to know what causes them. First, don't overwork yourself and keep yourself well hydrated. Avoid extremes in environmental temperatures, especially when going from indoors to outdoors. Consume plenty of electrolytes, such as potassium and calcium. Finally, be sure to stretch properly before exercising. If the cramps continue, see a doctor.

There is no guaranteed way to prevent charlie horses from occurring, but proper stretching before activities can certainly help. Try practicing a Yoga routine every morning when you wake up to fully stretch and prepare your muscles for the day ahead, and to give yourself a boost of healthy energy.
