To make the degree sign on a standard keyboard, press and hold ALT while typing 0176. This will work in most (if not all) standard word processing and email applications. This is handy for everything from weather temperatures to setting the oven temperature in recipes. I don't know what else to say. °°°

In windows hold down the ALT key and type 0176 from the number keypad (numbers above letters will not work). Upon releasing the ALT key the degree sign should appear.

Open up a new document in Microsoft Word. Type in a small letter o. Highlight it, and then press "control" "shift" and "+" at the same time. This will put the small o in superscript, up in the air like a degree sign. Or you could always find one online, copy and paste it in to the document you need.

There is no single key that creates this symbol, so you use a key combination. Hold the ALT key and press the numbers 0, 1, 7, 6 in that order.
