How do you learn the value of vintage jewelry findings?

You either have to take the piece to a jeweler or to an antiques dealer depending on the age. For a very old piece, go an antiques dealer, but if it seems not as vintage, go to a jeweler to first determine if the piece is real. For example, if it's a diamond, it should be able to cut glass.

A good way is to look at various sites that sell such findings. You can get a good idea of the value that way. Another way is to ask at a jewelry sales site.
