How do you know if you're earning what you should be getting paid?

I think some of my co-workers are making more than me.

What you are getting paid should be based on an agreement between you and your employer. You shouldn't worry about your coworkers pay. Most employers will praise hardwork and give raises depending on that. Most employers don't give all employees the same pay. Check your paystubs to make sure you are being paid what you agreed to be paid.

Salary depends on your skills, your experience, and your productivity. If someone has more experience or brings in more clients, it is right if they make more. For a better comparison, go to a salary estimator based on job title and experience and see what it says you should make.

In order to gauge if what you are getting paid is fair you should consult various local salary surveys in your area to see if your pay is in the average range of others doing your same job
