first you take the pearl and polish it then you put it in your mouth and rub it against your teeth if its real it will feel bumpy.

You can determine if pearls are real or not by looking at them. If you hold the pearls under very bright light, genuine pearls won't apear to be perfect. There will be variations of colors, shape, and bumps, ridges or pits should be present.
