Find a therapist who works with a psychiatrist. They will talk to you and help you figure out the best treatment; whether it's medication, therapy, or both. Fight it and never give in. You can get better.

Severe depression is caused by chemical inbalances in the brain. Medications and professional help are both important to the treatment of depression. In addition to this, diet and regular exercise have been shown to greatly help with depression. Do not self-medicate with drugs or alcohol, this will make depression worse.

You have to see a specialist who may describe hospitalization or out patient treatment. You will also need extensive theraphy to find out the root of your problem.

You need to try to remove as much stress from your life as you can. Once you're on drugs things will start to go a bit better for you, but it won't solve the problem. You have to do other things to make yourself feel better.
