Changing food should always be done slowly since your dog is used to eating one thing and now it will be different. It should be done as a 10 day process, on the first day do 10% new food 90% old, every day increase the new by 10% and decrease the old by 10%

Start by mixing 75% of the regular food with 25% of the new food. Do this for about a week then move up to 50%/50% then 25%/75% and so on.

When changing dog foods, do it gradually by putting a little of the new food in with the old food and increasing the amount of the new food slowly.

First you would start by adding a fourth of new food to the old food. In a few days add another fourth. Continue till theres nothing but new food.

You should always change a dog's food slowly to avoid upsetting their stomachs. If you change it too fast they'll get diarrhea. Mix some of the old food with the new, more of the old first.

Any time that you change a dogs food it should always be done slowly as far as this particular dag yes it should be done slowly and that way if you notice the new food isn't agreeing with the dog you will be able to put it back on the old food and stop him from becoming ill.
